Program Structure
The Doctoral Program consists of a minimum of eight academic terms. The program includes courses and activities. The program requires a qualifier examination, a doctoral proposal's defense, and participation in two research events. After completing all previous requirements students must complete and successfully defend the doctoral thesis. All courses and activities are mandatory to obtain a Ph.D. degree. This is an in-person (face-to-face) program. Classes are scheduled in 5-day intensive courses (Wed – Sun) 8:30 – 17:45 hrs. and every 5-6 weeks approximately. In between courses, the participant prepares the assignments for the next course. To open each course a minimum of 5 registered students is required.

Research areas
ESAN´s PhD program is flexible and interdisciplinary; however, the student interest must fit with available advisors’ interest and expertise. The admission and advisor acceptance are in rolling basis, consequently before the final admission date a research area can complete available vacancies. The areas of faculty research currently available when admission opens:

Candidate Profile
Participants of the Doctoral Program are academics and professionals interested in becoming researchers. This Program is devoted to those candidates with a deep interest in scientific research (in the Social Sciences) and contributing to knowledge creation, through academic articles. Seasoned professionals with experience and general familiarity with corporate issues. Young professionals will find this Program very valuable to consolidate their careers. The typical candidate is interested in combining teaching and research at a university or research center, or in consultancy and becoming corporate board members. The candidates must have earned a bachelor's and master's degree (or equivalent for foreign applicants). As some courses and all the reading materials are in English, applicants must have advanced reading and listening skills.
Investment
Each term requires six payments of USD 520 (6 installments per term).

- Curriculum
- Bachellor’s and Master’s degrees registered in SUNEDU (Constancia de inscripción en el Registro Nacional de Grados y Títulos - Bachiller y Maestría - emitido por SUNEDU)
- A copy of both degrees
- Affidavit of authenticity of documents (given by ESAN)
- Two reference letters
- A 500-word essay about describing the candidate background, experience, professional career goals, and reasons for pursuing a doctoral degree.
- A report of your grades (undergraduate and master)
- A picture (white background, no glasses, formal outfit)
- A declaration of English language proficiency (given by ESAN)
- An interview form with a faculty member of the Doctoral Program (given by ESAN)
- A copy of your national ID (DNI or CE)
- Payment of the admission fee
All these documents may be presented in digital format. After notification of initial acceptance into the Doctoral Program, students will have an assigned Academic Program Advisor who will provide initial orientation. Following the Academic Program Advisor meeting, the student will advance to the upcoming term's course enrollment process. The notification of acceptance will also open the enrollment and payment process. Students need to clear any standing payments before classes start.
