Introduction

The importance of finance in business and institutional decisions and their constantly evolving relationship with the field of law poses law practitioners a challenge to perform not only regarding statutory considerations but also in the field of finance. The professional contribution they can make by also contributing a financial viewpoint will further enhance productivity by providing a view aligned with organizations' economic and financial goals.

Given this challenge, Universidad ESAN chose to give law practitioners as well as other professionals outside the field of finance, in both government and industry, the option to work toward a Master's Degree in Corporate Finance and Law that will expand their fields of action and provide them with more tools for analysis and debate, leading to stronger business and organizational decisions.

AACSB accredited program

ESAN has been awarded further international recognition thanks to its institutional strength and high level educational programs.  

The Corporate Finance and Law Master's Degree has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), one of the most renowned international accrediting organizations. This accreditation certifies the academic quality of ESAN's programs.

Program objective

Training law professional practitioners in the economic and financial knowledge that will enable them to interact in the fields of finance and become involved in their organizations or other clients'  and rise to the challenges of a globalized world.

Specific objectives

  • Providing and understanding and mastery of financial and accounting knowledge as well as financial analysis and control tools. 
  • Developing the ability to analyze corporations' legal issues and design proposals for the financial structuring of contracts and securities' issuances.
  • Understanding various sources of financing and techniques and mechanisms to tap them.
  • Understanding the foundations of tax systems and developing the ability to design tax strategies, as well as the impact of the latter on a company's finances and bottom line. 
  • Understanding the ethics and social responsibilities of organizations towards their stakeholders.

Steering Council

The Master Program's Steering Council is a forum comprised of renowned personalities from the fields of law and finance with a strong academic knowledge and sound ethical principles and a successful track record in various fields of corporate law. The Steering Council will be responsible for the Corporate Finance and Law Master's Degree guidance and policies at Universidad ESAN, in an effort to pursue ongoing improvements for the benefit of all participants.

Length and schedule

The program lasts approximately 24 months, not including time required for graduation thesis project and defense.

Classes are taught on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm

PREPARATORY WORKSHOPS, INTERNATIONAL CLASSES, FINAL EXAMS AND CLASS RESCHEDULING GOVERNED BY SPECIAL REGIME.
